Ability to restrict certain risk record types from users

All of our users are able to create different record types (eg. risk, opportunity, process risk, finance risk). We are not able to prohibit which record types the user can or can't create. It would be great if security could be applied to the record type to disable certain roles, groups, users being able to create these records or potentially present different options per folder.

There may be a quick win here... Came to me as I was configuring workflow... Currently I can not use any of the item/folder properties in a risk field workflow, if we could include item properties in the workflow then that could be used to control how a risk form is viewed for different folders. For example this req came from United Utilities (prospect): "Tag risk level - Project, Programme, Portfolio, Strategic, Corporate and demonstrate fields changes based on dropdowns"

If we could use the Attributes field (say) in a risk workflow then you could set that on the folder and it could be used to control the layout of a risk form in that folder.

If I have a folder for corporate risk for example I would not want to tag each risk individually as a corporate risk, that would be better set at the folder level/item level.
