ClearSight SSO Clients Product Notifications

Clients utilizing SSO are bypassing the "log in" splash screen, therefore they are not receiving the product down time notifications that are posted on the log in page. Requesting system notification of outages be posted somewhere in the app so that the clients are not relying solely on the email bulletin.

Josh - what about a “broadcast” message or sorts? This is a pop-up that the user has to click “OK” to clear. That would definitely fall in the realm of “potentially intrusive” – perhaps we could program it in where this only happened one time, then their user ID would be flagged as having acknowledged it and they would not see it again.

This is a good idea, but the challenge is where to put the notification. There is already 'news and announcements' which can be displayed as a dashboard part. Currently the messages displayed there are manually configured. Maybe there could be a new dashboard part with system messages. Maybe this could be used for other types of notifications (releases? new products?). Not all clients use dashboards, and they are free to configure them however they want. Need to think about how intrusive you want the messages to be and the extent to which clients can opt out.
